Classic Chicken Cobb Salad

Cultural Context

The Cobb Salad originated in the 1930s at the Brown Derby restaurant in Hollywood, California, created by its owner, Bob Cobb. It was a way to use leftover ingredients and quickly became a staple of American cuisine, symbolizing the fresh, hearty flavors of California. Today, variations abound, with many adding different proteins or dressings, but the classic combination remains a beloved choice for its balance of textures and flavors.
