Drain cherries, save the juice, pat dry then dice cherries.

Mix and beat butter, oil, sugar and powdered sugar.

Beat in eggs, extracts and minced cherries.

In another bowl whisk flour, baking soda and cream tartar.

Slowly add in flour mixture to butter mixture; do not overmix!

May refrigerate dough for 24 hours.

Bake at 375°F for 8-11 minutes.

For the cherry frosting, whisk butter, cherry juice and extracts.

Stir in powdered sugar until frosting is smooth.

Frost cookies and add almonds on top.
