Strawberry Breakfast Pastries

Flower the work surface with a little bit of all-purpose flour to prevent sticking.
Unwrap the puff pastry onto the floured surface.
Cut the pastry into six rectangles, following the perforations.
Transfer the rectangles onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
Score a border about a half inch away from the edge of each rectangle.
Use a fork to prick the centers of the pastries to prevent puffing up too much.
Make the filling by combining full fat cream cheese and strawberry jam in a bowl and stirring until combined.
Add a dollop of the strawberry cream cheese mixture to the center of each pastry, spreading it within the scored border.
Arrange sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese filling.
Prepare an egg wash by cracking an egg and whisking it with a fork, then brush it around the edges of the pastries.
Bake the pastries in a preheated 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove the pastries from the oven once they are golden brown and perfectly puffed.
Dust the pastries with powdered sugar before transferring them to a serving plate.
