Line a 9 by 13 baking pan or use a baking sheet.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Spread 1 and 1/2 cups of pecans into an even layer on the baking pan.
Roast the pecans in the oven for 8 to 9 minutes, mixing them halfway through.
Let the roasted pecans cool completely for about 10 minutes.
Melt 1 lb of dark chocolate in a double boiler.
Add the cooled pecans to a food processor and pulse 5 to 6 times to get fine bits.
In a bowl, combine the melted chocolate with 1 cup of the pecan pieces and about 3/4 cup of the toffee bits, mixing well.
Pour the chocolate pecan toffee mixture into the lined baking dish and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
Top the mixture with the remaining pecan pieces, remaining toffee bits, and a few pinches of flaky sea salt.
Refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours before cutting into pieces.
