Thaw one loaf of frozen bread dough in a greased loaf pan, covered with plastic wrap.
Preheat the oven to 175°F (80°C), then turn it off and place the dough inside to rise for about 2 hours.
Mix together 1/2 cup sugar and 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon in a bowl; add brown sugar to taste and mix well.
Punch down the risen dough and dump it onto a paper plate.
Cut the dough lengthwise into two pieces and shape it back into a loaf.
Make crosswise slits in the dough without cutting all the way through.
Brush half a stick of melted butter generously over the dough, ensuring it gets into the slits.
Coat the dough in the cinnamon sugar mixture, pressing it into the slits and covering the top.
Place the coated dough back into the greased loaf pan and repeat with the second loaf.
Cover the pans with plastic wrap and let rise in the warm oven for another 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and bake the loaves for about 35 minutes until done.
Check for doneness by tapping the bottom of the bread; it should sound hollow.
Cool the bread on wire racks after removing from the pans.
Make a glaze by mixing 1 cup powdered sugar with milk to desired thickness; drizzle over the cooled bread.
