Cultural Context
Stegt Flæsk is a traditional Danish dish, often considered the national dish of Denmark, typically served with boiled potatoes and parsley sauce.
Preheat the oven to 435 deg. F / 225 deg. C.
Place the pork belly strips on a baking grille tray and sprinkle with salt.
Put a normal baking tray below to catch the melted fat drippings.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
While the pork is baking, boil the potatoes until tender.
In a saucepan, melt the salted butter and add the wheat flour to make a roux.
Gradually whisk in the semi-skimmed cow's milk until smooth.
Add the sugar, chopped parsley, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
