Welcome to my kitchen. Today we're making easy sandwich bread with six ingredients.

Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar to the bread flour.

Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together until well combined.

Mix gradually with a wooden spoon until a soft and wet dough forms.

Let the dough rest for 5 minutes to allow gluten to develop.

Leave the dough to rise for 1 hour until well risen.

Grease two loaf pans with room temperature butter and sprinkle flour inside, coating the sides.

Punch down the risen dough to remove trapped air and transfer it to a lightly floured work surface.

Divide the dough into two equal parts and shape each into a loaf.

Place each shaped loaf into the prepared loaf pans and press gently to reach the edges.

Crack one egg into a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of water; whisk together for egg wash.
