1

Add 1 and 1/2 cups of jasmine rice to a bowl and rinse and soak it in water for 15 minutes.

2

In a saucepan, add the rinsed rice and 3 cups of water, bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.

3

After 20 minutes, turn off the heat and let the covered saucepan sit for 10 minutes.

4

In another saucepan, combine soy sauce, tamari sauce, water, pure maple syrup, sesame oil, mirin, cooking sake, rice wine vinegar, grated ginger, fresh orange juice, honey, corn starch, dark brown sugar, black pepper, chili pepper, yu sauce, and red chili flakes.

5

Whisk the sauce on high heat for 10 to 12 minutes until it thickens, then set aside to cool.

6

Season 3/4 lb of top sirloin steak with sea salt and pepper.

7

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil and 2 tbsp of sesame oil, then cook the steak for 8 minutes on both sides or until desired doneness.

8

Once cooked, place the steak on a plate covered with foil to keep warm.

9

In the same skillet, add 1 cup of chopped mixed vegetables and some of the teriyaki sauce, cooking for 8 minutes or until tender.

10

Uncover the saucepan with the rice and begin assembling the teriyaki bowl by placing a scoop of rice, topping half with cooked vegetables, and slicing the steak to add on top.

11

Drizzle the teriyaki sauce over the rice bowl and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
