Cover the mixture with a cloth and let it ferment at room temperature for 24-48 hours.

Check the consistency; it should be slightly thickened and bubbly.

Taste the kumis; if it's tangy and slightly fizzy, it's ready.

Transfer kumis to bottles for storage.

Refrigerate to slow down fermentation before serving.

Serve chilled, optionally flavored with herbs or spices.
