In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, whip together the softened butter and softened cream cheese until light and fluffy.
Add in the sugar and mix until combined.
Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, then mix again.
Pour in the flour and salt mixture and beat until combined.
Prepare a 9x13 metal jelly roll pan by placing a sheet of parchment paper over it, letting it hang over the sides.
Drop the cookie dough onto the pan, sprinkle lightly with flour, and press it into an even layer using another sheet of parchment paper.
Remove the top parchment paper and bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes until the edges begin to brown slightly.
Place the pan on a cooling rack and allow the cookie bars to cool completely.
For the frosting, add softened butter to a stand mixer and whip until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla, powdered sugar, salt, and 1 tablespoon of heavy cream to the butter and beat until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.
Add a few drops of food coloring if desired and mix thoroughly.
Smooth the frosting over the cooled cookie bars using a spatula.
Add sprinkles if desired and refrigerate for about 20 minutes to allow the frosting to firm up.
Cut into squares and serve.
