Warm 1 and 1/4 cups of water in the microwave for 1 minute until lukewarm.
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of yeast to the warm water and stir to dissolve.
Set a timer for 10 minutes to let the yeast mixture activate.
In a bowl, combine 3 and 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour and 2 teaspoons of salt.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the microwave and set aside.
After 10 minutes, add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the flour and salt mixture.
Mix with a wooden spoon, then use your hands to combine until slightly sticky, adding more flour if necessary.
Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
Prepare a baking tray with parchment paper and sprinkle flour on the surface.
Divide the dough into 8 pieces, rolling each piece into a long shape.
Place the rolls on the baking tray and cover with a towel to rise for 40 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 420°F (215°C) during the last 10 minutes of rising.
Spray the rolls with water before baking for a shiny finish.
Bake in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes, checking after 15 minutes.
Remove the rolls from the oven and spray them lightly with water for shine.
Transfer the rolls to a wire rack to cool.
