Cultural Context

Strawberry frozen yogurt popsicles are a delightful summer treat that originated in the United States, where frozen yogurt gained popularity in the 1980s as a healthier alternative to ice cream. These popsicles embody the essence of summer with their refreshing fruit flavor and creamy texture, making them a favorite among families and children alike. Today, variations abound, with different fruits and sweeteners, but the classic strawberry remains a beloved choice.

1

In a medium-sized bowl, stir together 1 and 1/4 cups of full fat Greek yogurt, chopped strawberries, 4 tablespoons of milk, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 drops of treatology fresh basil flavor, and 1 drop of treatology sweet Meer lemon flavor.

2

Note that full fat Greek yogurt makes creamier pops, while low-fat and non-fat yogurts are more watery and result in icier pops.

3

Divide the yogurt mixture evenly into the silicone shot glass mold cavities, shaking or tapping the silicone to even out the yogurt.

4

Freeze until firm, about 8 hours.

5

In a small bowl, stir together the remaining 3/4 cups of yogurt, 2 tablespoons of milk, 2 tablespoons of honey, 4 drops of treatology sweet Meer lemon flavor, and lemon yellow icing color.

6

Remove the pops from the mold; the silicone makes popping them out quick and easy, and you can put the mold right into the dishwasher.

7

Divide the lemon mixture evenly into the cavities of the pops and place a lollipop stick in the center of the lemon mixture.

8

Freeze until firm, about 8 hours.
