In a large bowl, add all-purpose flour.
Add sugar to the flour.
Add salt to the flour mixture.
Mix the dry ingredients together.
Add warm water to a separate bowl and crack in an egg.
Add melted butter to the warm water and egg mixture.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, holding back a little liquid just in case.
Knead the dough by hand for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Grease the bowl with a little olive oil and place the dough back in, swirling it around to coat.
Cover the bowl with a shower cap and let it proof for about 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
Turn the dough out onto a surface and divide it into two equal pieces, around 15 ounces each.
Shape each piece into a sausage-like loaf.
Place the shaped loaves into greased 9"x5" loaf pans.
Cover the loaves with the shower cap and let them proof for another 45 minutes to 1 hour until risen.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Brush the tops of the loaves with egg wash before baking.
Bake the loaves in the oven for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
Let the bread cool in the pan for about 20 minutes before slicing.
