Prepare the fish by butterflying or cutting slits into it.

Rinse the fish and let it drain.

Prepare the marinade by adding coriander, green chili, garlic, lemon or lime juice, vegetable oil, and white vinegar into a blender.

Add salt, black pepper, ground cumin, ground coriander, and chili powder to the blender and blend until smooth.

Grate the carrot and finely slice the onion and tomato.

Mix the sliced vegetables with some of the marinade in a bowl.

Place the fish on an oven tray lined with foil with the flesh facing upwards.

Spread the marinade over the fish and top with the vegetable mixture.

Let the fish marinate for about 15 minutes.
