Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
In a bowl, combine barbecue sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, diced onion, black pepper, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, honey, lemon juice, mustard, and soy sauce.
Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
Place the chicken in a large bowl or resealable bag.
Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated.
Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and let excess drip off.
Place the chicken on the preheated grill.
Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Baste the chicken with leftover marinade during the last few minutes of grilling.
Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
