Ham and Cheese Croissants

Add water at room temperature, sugar, and yeast to a bowl.
Let the yeast activate for 5 to 10 minutes or continue with the recipe immediately.
Add flour, butter, and salt to the bowl with the yeast mixture.
Use a hook attachment on the mixer to knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, up to 8 minutes.
Let the dough rise until it doubles in size, approximately 45 minutes in a warm room.
Press the dough down and cut it in half; each half will yield 8 croissants.
Roll out one half of the dough into a circle using a rolling pin and flour.
Cut the circle into 8 triangles using a knife or pizza cutter.
Add a bit of barbecue sauce or ketchup to the base of each triangle.
Sprinkle oregano on top of the sauce.
Place a piece of ham and cheese on each triangle.
Roll each triangle from the wide end to the point, pulling the edges slightly as you roll.
Place the rolled croissants on a baking pan lined with parchment paper, ensuring the point is underneath.
Brush the tops with egg wash or milk for a glossy finish, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Preheat the oven to 190°C (374°F).
Bake the croissants for 20 minutes until golden brown.
