Start with a ribeye steak and season it.

Prepare bourbon miso butter to baste the steak while cooking and to finish it on top after cooking.

Reduce bourbon to eliminate alcohol and intensify flavor before using it in the butter.

Oil and lightly season red onions and asparagus with salt and olive oil.

Place the onions on the top rack of the grill to gently cook and absorb smoke flavor.

Add asparagus to the grill, ensuring it is well salted and mixed with olive oil.

Monitor the asparagus and remove it from the grill when it flames up, indicating it's done after about two minutes.

Check the steak for a beautiful crust created by the sear mode of the grill.
