St Patrick's Day Irish Guinness Brown Bread

Irish Guinness Brown Bread

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix together the buttermilk, Guinness stout, and brown sugar until well combined.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture.
Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Using a sharp knife, score a deep cross on the top of the loaf.
Brush the top with melted butter for a golden crust.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
