Cut off the ends of the fresh green beans and rinse them under cold water.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add salt to it.
Once the water is boiling, add the green beans and blanch them for 6 minutes.
After 6 minutes, drain the green beans and run them under cold water to stop the cooking process.
In a large skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of minced garlic over medium-high heat.
Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and sauté for about 4 minutes until they are tender but still crunchy.
Toss in the cooked bacon and season with black pepper to taste. Avoid adding salt as the bacon and butter already provide flavor.
Serve the sautéed green beans warm as a side dish.
