Today, rare steak is enjoyed in steakhouses and homes alike, with various cuts and cooking methods gaining popularity.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1Remove steak from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. 2Preheat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until smoking hot.
  3. 3Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  4. 4Add olive oil to the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom.
  5. 5Place the steak in the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes without moving it.
