1 kg chicken leg pieces
2 cups water
1/2 kg basmati rice

Heat 1/2 cup mustard oil in an open pot.

Add whole spices: cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, green cardamom, black cardamom, and cumin.

Stir in 1 tablespoon red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, and 1 tablespoon dried coriander powder, along with 1 teaspoon salt.

Add 3 dried lemons and 2 sliced tomatoes, mixing well.

Add chicken leg pieces and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Cover and cook for another 10 minutes until chicken is tender.

Remove chicken and shallow fry in the pot until browned.

Add 2 cups water to the remaining spices in the pot, then add 1/2 kg soaked basmati rice.

Bring to a boil, cover, and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.

Arrange the fried chicken on top of the rice and cover for 3-4 minutes to steam.
