Start with a tray of Herring that is slightly frozen, ensuring they are not sticking together.
Open the tray and carefully separate the Herring without ripping off any scales.
Prepare a gallon freezer Ziploc bag for curing the Herring.
Pour Procure brine into the bag, filling it about a quarter of the way up.
Add extra salt to the brine, using a coffee cup to measure about half full.
Add a few drops of bait bright to enhance the shine of the Herring.
Sprinkle in a small amount of Monster Bite bait enhancement for extra enticement.
Add 3 to 5 drops of pure Anis oil to the mixture, being careful not to overdo it.
Shake the bag to mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
Add the Herring to the bag, ensuring they are completely covered by the brine.
If necessary, add a little more brine to ensure all the Herring are covered.
Let the Herring cure overnight in the fridge before fishing.
As a quick method, if you forget to brine the Herring, pre-cut them before adding to the brine to speed up the curing process.
