4 slices Swiss cheese

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Bundle up 8 thin slices of deli ham and brown them on both sides in the skillet.

Remove the ham from the skillet and set aside, wiping out the skillet afterward.

Turn off the heat and prepare 2 slices of pumpernickel rye bread.

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of the first slice of bread.

Spread 1 tablespoon of spicy mustard on one side of the second slice of bread.

On the mayonnaise side, place 2 slices of Swiss cheese, and on the mustard side, place another 2 slices of Swiss cheese.

Slice red onion into rings and top the mayonnaise side of the bread with 4 slices of ham.

Slice a Cherokee purple tomato and add the slices on top of the ham, followed by a few slices of red onion if desired.

In a clean skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-low heat and crack 1 egg into it, seasoning with salt and pepper.

Cook the egg until done, then place it on top of the sandwich fillings.

Add the remaining 4 slices of ham on top of the egg, then place the other slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.

In a clean skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat and carefully add the sandwich to the skillet.
