In a mixing bowl, separate the egg whites and yolks.

In another bowl, mix the sugar with the egg yolks until pale and creamy.

Add the pinch of salt and vanilla to the egg yolk mixture.

Sift together the flour and cornstarch, then fold into the egg yolk mixture.
