Homemade BBQ sauce can be healthier with less sugar, and ketchup is a budget-friendly alternative.
Start by combining 1 pound of ground pork and 1.25 pounds of ground beef in a mixing bowl.
Add 2 beaten eggs to the meat mixture.
Incorporate 0.5 cup of panko breadcrumbs into the mixture.
Pour in 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.
Add 0.5 cup of diced onion and 0.5 cup of diced red bell pepper.
Eyeball and add about 0.5 cup of sweet barbecue sauce to the mixture.
Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of pecan rub and 1.5 tablespoons of everyday rub for seasoning.
Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic to the mixture.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly by hand until well combined.
Form the meat mixture into a log shape.
Spray a cooling rack with nonstick spray and place the meatloaf on it.
Apply a little pecan rub on top of the meatloaf.
Layer the sweet rub on the sides and top of the meatloaf, patting it in gently.
Preheat the Traeger grill to 350°F (177°C) using pecan pellets.
Place the meatloaf on the grill, centered on the rack.
Insert a temperature probe into the meatloaf and cook until it reaches 150°F (65°C).
Once it reaches 150°F, glaze the meatloaf with sweet barbecue sauce.
Continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove the meatloaf from the grill after about 1 hour and 40 minutes of total cooking time.
Let the meatloaf rest for about 15 minutes before slicing.
