Add warm milk to a bowl and mix in dry baker's yeast and sugar, stirring until dissolved.
Add all-purpose flour and salt, mixing with a wooden spoon until incorporated.
Knead the dough by hand until all flour is absorbed, then continue kneading on a work surface for 1 minute.
Gradually add room temperature butter in three portions, kneading until fully incorporated after each addition.
Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it is soft and manageable.
Form the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl to rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Press the risen dough to remove air and divide it into three equal parts, shaping each into a ball.
Roll out one ball into a rectangle approximately 25 by 35 cm.
Spread lard over the dough (optional) and layer with bacon, ham, green olives, and raisins, filling three-quarters of the dough.
Cut strips in the dough with a pizza cutter and fold them inwards to create a comb-like design.
Roll the dough tightly, tucking in the edges to seal.
Shape the bread using a cookie cutter for decoration if desired.
Place the formed loaves on a baking tray lined with baking paper and let them rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350°F).
Beat an egg with a little salt and brush it over the loaves for color.
Bake the loaves for 30 minutes until golden brown.
Let the loaves cool on a rack before slicing.
