1

Warm 1 and 1/2 cups milk in the microwave for about 40 seconds until lukewarm.

2

Add 1 teaspoon granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon active dry yeast to the milk and mix.

3

Let the yeast proof for 10 minutes.

4

In a KitchenAid mixer, combine 3 and 1/2 cups Vondra flour and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt.

5

Add 1 egg to the flour mixture after the yeast has proofed and mix until a dough forms.

6

Sprinkle some Vondra flour on top of the dough and cover it to rise for 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size.

7

Preheat the oven to the lowest setting (170°F), turn it off, and place the dough inside to rise.

8

After 1 hour, knead the dough to release the air and cut it into three equal parts.

9

Shape each part into a smooth dumpling and let them rise for 15 more minutes, covered.

10

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and prepare a steamer with water and oil on the rack.

11

Place dumplings in the steamer and set a timer for 20 minutes without disturbing them.

12

Lower the flame to a gentle boil after adding the dumplings to the pot and set a timer for 10 minutes.

13

After 10 minutes, flip the dumplings in the pot and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

14

After 20 minutes, remove the dumplings from the steamer and poke them to release steam, brushing with oil if necessary.
