Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf; place it in the prepared loaf pan.
Sprinkle cornmeal on top of the loaf for added texture.
Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Slice and serve warm, optionally with butter.
