Place a large skillet over medium high heat and add half a tablespoon of olive oil.
Add half of a finely diced yellow onion and stir for about 30 seconds.
Add two pounds of lean ground beef and break it up into small pieces with a spatula.
Season the mixture with one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of black pepper, and one teaspoon of garlic powder.
Continue sauteing until the beef is just cooked through.
Spoon out any excess fat or liquid released from the beef.
Stir in 1/4 cup of real mayonnaise with the heat off.
Shred six ounces of medium cheddar cheese on a box grater.
Cut a 24 pack of dinner rolls in half.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Butter the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet.
Place the bottom half of the dinner rolls onto the buttered baking sheet.
Line the cut side of the bread with sliced cheese.
Spread the ground beef mixture evenly over the sliced cheese.
Cover the ground beef with six ounces of shredded cheddar cheese.
Place the top half of the buns over the cheese and brush the tops with two tablespoons of melted butter.
Sprinkle the tops generously with sesame seeds.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes, or 18 minutes if refrigerated, until the cheese is melted.
