Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Add a little olive oil to a 12-inch cast iron skillet and add just over 1 pound of ground beef, breaking it up into a layer.

Leave the beef untouched for a couple of minutes to allow it to caramelize.

Dice an onion while the beef cooks.

Render excess fat from the beef by tilting the skillet and leaving about a tablespoon of fat.

Add the diced onion to the skillet and turn the heat back up to sauté the onions with the beef.

Season the beef and onion mixture with your choice of seasoning, preferably salt-free.

Slice a pack of Hawaiian rolls down the middle in one go.

Add about a quarter cup of cream cheese to the beef mixture, letting the residual heat melt it in.
