  • 1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. 2In the slow cooker, layer the chopped cabbage, diced potatoes, and chopped onion.
  3. 3Add the browned sausage on top of the vegetables.
  4. 4In a small bowl, mix the chicken broth, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the ingredients in the slow cooker.
  5. 5Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the vegetables are tender.
  6. 6Stir the mixture before serving to combine the flavors.

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
