Slice the bread loaf into sections without cutting all the way through.

Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.

Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

Stir in chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Drizzle olive oil over the bread and into the slices.

Spread the garlic butter mixture generously into the slices.

Sprinkle cheese between the slices if using.

Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and place on a baking tray.

Bake for 15-20 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted.

Remove from foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden.
