150g lean beef
2-3 tbsp virgin olive oil
2 cloves of crushed garlic
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 medium onion chopped
1 medium tomato
2 bell peppers chopped
100g diced mushrooms
3-4 cups of water
1-2 cups of maize meal
1 1⁄2 cups of whole kernel mielies

Roughly chop spinach into pieces and set aside.

Add 2-3 tbsp virgin oil to the pan and bring to medium heat.

Add the beef, crushed garlic, diced mushrooms, paprika, salt, turmeric, and black pepper to the pan.

Mix all the ingredients in the pan together and cover the pan for 30 minutes.

Add the diced onions, bell peppers, and chopped tomatoes to the pan to cook for 10 minutes.

Add spinach to the pan, stir to mix, and let it cook for 3 minutes until it softens.

Remove the pan and set aside.

Pour water into a pot and heat up until lukewarm.

Add maize meal and cook on medium heat.

Stir pap until it starts to thicken, cover the pot, and let it cook for about 10 minutes.

Add more maize meal and stir.

Continue to stir until you see a smooth thick consistency.

Add whole kernel mielies and stir.

Cover the pot for 2 minutes to simmer and stir for 2 minutes on medium heat.
