Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and molasses to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
Roll each ball in sugar to coat.
Place the sugar-coated balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are firm.
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
