Get 1 cup of warm water (100 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit).

Add 2 teaspoons of yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of flour to the warm water and stir.

Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy bubbles form.

In a big bowl, add the yeast batter, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Add 2.5 cups of flour (about 330 grams) and mix until the dough is smooth and soft, about 5 minutes.

Add olive oil to the surface of the bowl to prevent the dough from sticking, then place the dough in the bowl and cover with plastic wrap.

Let the dough proof until it doubles in size, which took about 35 minutes in warm conditions (should not exceed 1 to 1.5 hours).
