Pour the warm brine over the gherkins, ensuring they are fully submerged.
Add fresh dill and onion to the jar, if desired.
Seal the jar tightly with a lid.
Allow the pickles to cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before consuming for best flavor.
