Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously until the dressing is emulsified.
Add the torn lettuce to the bowl and toss gently to coat with the dressing.
Sprinkle croutons and grated Parmesan cheese over the salad and toss lightly again.
Season with black pepper to taste and serve immediately.
