Badam Milk

1 cup milk
1/4 cup almonds (badam)
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 tsp rose water
A pinch of saffron strands
Chopped almonds for garnish

Soak the almonds in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.

After soaking, peel the almonds and blend them with a little milk to make a smooth paste.

In a saucepan, heat the remaining milk over medium heat until it comes to a boil.

Add the almond paste to the boiling milk and stir well.

Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add sugar, cardamom powder, and rose water to the milk mixture and stir until the sugar dissolves.

If using saffron, add it to the mixture and stir well.

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Serve warm or chilled, garnished with chopped almonds.
