Extract juice from pomegranates using a juicer or by hand.
Strain the juice to remove seeds and pulp.
Combine the pomegranate juice and sugar in a large pot.
Add lemon juice and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
Add vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
Test the jam's consistency by placing a spoonful on a cold plate; it should set.
Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars while still hot.
Seal the jars and let them cool to room temperature before storing.
