Traditionally made by farmers, it combines various meats and spices, often enjoyed during braais (barbecues) as a symbol of community and celebration. Today, Boerewors is not only a staple at South African gatherings but has also gained popularity worldwide, with variations appearing in international cuisine.

Toast the black peppercorns and whole coriander seeds for a richer flavor.
Grind the toasted spices along with the fine nutmeg, fine cloves, fine coriander, and fine allspice.
Mix the ground spices with the beef, pork, pork fat, Worcestershire sauce, and ice water to form the boerewors mixture.
Stuff the mixture into the natural sausage casings and twist into links.
Grill the sausage on a bed of smokey embers until cooked through and juicy.
For the tomato sauce, heat canola oil in a pan, add flour and stir to form a roux.
Add the chopped tomatoes, sugar, mild curry powder, garlic powder, white vinegar, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until thickened.
