Preheat the oven to 325°F.
Prepare the bundt pan by greasing it with butter.
In a large mixing bowl, sift 2 cups of flour to break down lumps.
Add 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar and one box of instant vanilla pudding mix to the bowl.
Add 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Add 1 stick of softened unsalted butter and 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, then mix with a hand mixer on medium speed until combined.
Add 4 eggs one at a time, mixing until each egg is fully blended before adding the next.
Add 1/2 cup of Carnation evaporated milk and 1/2 cup of dark rum, along with 1 teaspoon each of almond and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure all ingredients are mixed in, then mix for a few more seconds.
Transfer the batter to the prepared bundt pan, adding 1/2 cup of pecans to the bottom before pouring in the batter.
Gently run a spatula through the batter to remove air bubbles before placing it in the oven.
Bake for 55 minutes, checking with a toothpick to ensure it comes out clean.
Let the cake rest after removing it from the oven while preparing the rum soak.
In a saucepan, melt 1 stick of unsalted butter, then add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1/4 cup of water, cooking for 5 to 7 minutes while stirring frequently.
Turn off the heat and slowly add 1/2 cup of dark rum, stirring until well combined.
Poke holes all over the cake with a skewer and pour the rum soak over the cake gradually, allowing it to absorb before adding more.
Cover the cake and let it rest at room temperature for at least 1 to 2 hours before serving.
Invert the cake after resting and serve.
