Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil (45 ml) in a pan.
Add 2 pieces of chopped onion and sautรฉ for 5 minutes.
Add 3 cloves of chopped garlic and sautรฉ for an additional 10 minutes until browned.
Add 2 pieces of chopped tomato, salt to taste, 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, and 1 teaspoon of paprika powder, mixing well.
Add a little water to prevent spices from burning and cook for at least 10 minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
Add 1 can of fava beans with water and cook on low flame for at least 10 minutes until soft.
Mash the fava beans slightly with a spoon for 5-7 minutes until well mixed.
Add some fresh chopped coriander and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Serve in a plate, garnishing with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, chopped onion, chopped tomato, and fresh coriander.
