Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish that has gained worldwide popularity. It consists of vinegared rice combined with various ingredients, including seafood, vegetables, and occasionally tropical fruits. Sushi can be served in various forms, such as nigiri (hand-formed rice topped with fish) or maki (rolled sushi). Its origins date back to the 8th century, where it was used as a method of preserving fish in fermented rice. Today, sushi is enjoyed as a delicacy and is often associated with Japanese culture and cuisine.

Canned tuna is budget-friendly and still provides protein.

Brown rice is more nutritious, while white rice is often cheaper.
Prepare sushi rice by seasoning it with vinegar.
Form small rice balls with the seasoned rice.
Accompany the rice balls with fresh fish, seafood, or vegetables.
Marinate chicken parts (thigh, wing, liver, skin) in tare sauce or salt.
Grill the marinated chicken skewers over charcoal to make yakitori.
Prepare okonomiyaki batter with flour, eggs, and shredded cabbage.
Add additional ingredients of choice (meat, seafood, cheese) to the batter.
Grill the okonomiyaki on a hot plate until cooked.
Top the okonomiyaki with okonomiyaki sauce, Japanese mayonnaise, dried bonito flakes, and nori seaweed.
Cook udon noodles, which are made from wheat flour, in a light broth of dashi, soy sauce, and mirin.
Serve udon hot or cold, depending on preference.
Prepare takoyaki by mixing batter and stuffing it with octopus, pickled ginger, and green onions.
Grill the takoyaki on a special griddle until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Top takoyaki with takoyaki sauce, Japanese mayonnaise, dried bonito flakes, and nori seaweed.
Bread the pork chop with panko and fry until golden and crispy to make tonkatsu.
Serve tonkatsu with sliced cabbage, rice, miso soup, and tonkatsu sauce.
