Self-rising flour simplifies the recipe.
In a medium bowl, add 2 cups of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Mix the flour and salt with your hands.
Gradually add about 1/4 cup of water and mix until it forms a ball.
Add more water as needed, up to a total of 1/2 cup, depending on the dough consistency.
Add 1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil and mix it in.
Knead the dough in the bowl until smooth.
Divide the dough into two equal portions.
Roll each portion into a circular shape like a tortilla.
Create a hole in the center of each circle and then coil it into a rope shape.
Cut the rope into segments and form into a snail shape.
Let the coiled chapatis rest for 20 minutes, brushed with coconut oil to prevent crusting.
Roll each rested chapati into a thin circle again, maintaining the coil shape.
Cook the chapati in a skillet until golden brown on both sides.
