🥗Healthier: olive oil

💰Cheaper: margarine

Olive oil reduces saturated fat while maintaining flavor.

1

Place 2 cups of rice in a bowl and cover with boiling water by about two fingers.

2

Add 1 teaspoon of salt, stir gently, and cover the bowl to soak for 30 minutes.

3

After 30 minutes, uncover the bowl and transfer the rice to a strainer, rinsing under cold running water until the water runs clear.

4

Drain the rice well and set aside.

5

Melt 50 g of butter in a pot over low to medium heat.

6

Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pot.

7

Quickly add 2 cups of tap water to the pot before the oil gets too hot to avoid splashing.

8

Add the rice to the pot and stir lightly to spread it evenly, then increase the heat to high.

9

Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cover the pot, cooking for 10 to 12 minutes.

10

Check the rice after 10 to 12 minutes, adjusting the heat if necessary.

11

Add half a tablespoon of salt and stir gently to avoid making the rice sticky.

12

Cover the pot again and let it cook for another 10 to 12 minutes until fully cooked.
