Pour 1 and 1/2 cups of warm water at 110°F into the bowl of a stand mixer with the dough hook attached.
Add 1 tbsp of active dry yeast and 2 tbsp of white sugar to the water.
Stir the yeast mixture well and let it stand for about 10 minutes until it becomes creamy.
Add 2 tbsp of vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 cups of bread flour to the mixture.
Mix the dough until the ingredients are just blended.
Add the remaining 2 cups of flour, half a cup at a time, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Lightly flour a clean work surface and turn the dough out onto it.
Knead the dough for about 8 minutes or until it's smooth and elastic.
Lightly coat a large bowl with oil and place the dough in the bowl, turning it to coat with oil.
Cover the bowl with a clean damp cloth and let the dough sit in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
While the dough is rising, lightly grease two baking sheets.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface.
Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces and form each piece into a round ball.
Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving at least 2 inches between them.
Cover the rolls with clean damp cloths and let them rise until they've doubled in volume, about 40 minutes.
While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 400°F.
Once the rolls have doubled in size, bake them in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until they're golden brown.
Optionally, brush the rolls before baking with 1 beaten egg white mixed with 1 tbsp water for a professional look.
