Japanese sweet potatoes are sweeter and creamier, while regular potatoes are more affordable.

Wash the sweet potato and wrap it with 2 sheets of kitchen paper, then soak it in water.

Heat in the microwave (500W) for 2 minutes to bring the internal temperature to between 60 and 70 degrees Celsius.

Flip the sweet potato and heat at 150W (defrost mode) for 10 minutes.

Flip it again and heat at 150W (defrost mode) for another 10 minutes.

Check if it is cooked by inserting a bamboo skewer; if not cooked, heat for an additional 10 minutes.
