Unsweetened Applesauce

4 medium apples
1/2-1 cup (118-235ml) water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice

Core and chop your apples - keeping the skins on or peeling them as preferred.

Add the apples to a saucepan along with the cinnamon and lemon juice.

Add the water, starting with 1/2 cup (118ml) and adding more if needed during cooking.

Bring the water to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and leave to simmer for 25-30 minutes until the apples are soft.

Mash the apples using the back of a wooden spoon.

Leave to cool completely, then blend with a hand blender or use a potato masher.

Transfer into a jar/container and store in the fridge for up to a week.
