dark chocolate

powdered sugar

Canola oil is typically cheaper and has a neutral flavor.
Toast 1 cup of hazelnuts until warm and then pour them onto a clean kitchen towel.
Rub the hazelnuts together in the towel to release the skins, leaving some skin on is okay.
Filter out the skins and add the hazelnuts into a blender.
Add 12 oz of melted milk chocolate to the blender.
Add 2 tablespoons of neutral flavored oil (or hazelnut oil for more flavor).
Add 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar to the blender.
Add 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder to the mixture.
Add a splash of vanilla extract for extra flavor.
Add 3/4 teaspoon of fine salt to the blender.
Blend all ingredients until finely ground, using a spatula to wipe down the bowl as needed.
Pour the Nutella into mason jars for storage.
Store the Nutella in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
If desired, push the Nutella through a fine mesh sieve to smooth it out before serving.
