1/2 cup Rolled Oats
1 & 3/4 cups Buttermilk or Sour Milk

Preheat the oven to 150°C. Grease and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Sift together the whole wheat flour, white flour, wheat bran, wheat germ or ground flaxseeds, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.

Stir in the rolled oats and vegetable oil or butter with a wooden spoon until all ingredients are evenly mixed together.

Pour in the buttermilk or sour milk and stir until the dough is mixed together into a soft, slightly sticky ball.

Dust your work surface with flour and knead the dough for about 3 minutes.

Take a handful of dough and roll it into a ball with your hands. Place each ball on the prepared baking tray, leaving plenty of space between them as they will spread while baking.

Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes or until golden browned and cooked through.
